Things I won in January

This month I was fortunate enough to win:

this set from Simon Says Stamp, during the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge. Read about the challenge here.

I also won a digital stamp from Sew Many Challenges. Read about the challenge hop here.

And I won a $15 gift certificate to Pez a Doodle. Read about the challenge from Tuesday Morning Sketches here.

I am so new to blogging and to card challenges, so I feel very blessed to have won THREE times in less than a month!

Here is a card that I made from the Simon Says Stamp set:

I really like this set!

I plan to post my monthly winnings each month (if there are any) .  Stay tuned!

My First Blog Hop!

Today I joined my first Blog Hop over at Sew Many Challenges. They have a lot of DT's (along with a couple of link issues), so it took me a while, but I really enjoyed seeing the new releases. Cute stamps! The DT's cards were great, too. Along the way, I found some new blogs to follow and entered to win their great prizes!

Check it out! You might get some great new ideas!

I also became a follower over at Taylord Concepts. She has some FAB Blog candy available on Jan. 31 that is every crafter's dream! See here for the details! Her cards are just amazing. She made this butterfly to go on a card, and it looks REAL. Wow!

Well, off to my stamping...Happy Friday!

P.S. Here's a picture to make you smile! :-)

More Challenges!

I am enjoying these challenges SO much! They give me a starting point (which is always the toughest part for me), and a deadline (always a good thing!).  Winning isn't bad either! ;-)

Here's my entry for StampTV's Sketch challenge #08 and for Sew Many Challenges Color Challenge:

I used Simon Says Stamp's All My Love stamp set (just won this set, and I really love it!). The embossing is Cuttlebug D'vine Swirl embossing folder. Ribbon is Stampin'Up!, as are all papers and inks (Perfect Plum, Pale Plum and Basic Black). The heart is a doo-dad I picked up somewhere. Also, I glittered the cake and swirls to add some bling.

Thanks for looking!

IldiCo's Last Challenge

I am new at the "Card Challenge" thing, and I have been carefully choosing which challenges to enter. I was really disappointed to fall in love with this blog, only to learn that this is their last challenge. SAD! Anyhoo--I decided to give it a try. I wish them well wherever their card fairies take them! :-)

This was made using the Stampin'Up! Manhattan Flower embossing folder. All papers and inks are Stampin'Up!  The DP is from the KandCo Life's Journey stack. You can't tell from the pic, but the background behind the flower is also embossed. I used Stampin'Up!'s Perfect Details texture plate.

Thanks for looking!

Tuesday Morning Sketches Challenge #29

This is the card I entered for this week's Tuesday Morning Sketches challenge:

This was such a fun card to make! I used the "Like it a Latte" set from Stampin'Up! The DP is from KandCo's Life's Journey paper stack, and all other papers are Stampin'Up!

The best part was the whipped cream. I used white Liquid Applique from Marvy Uchida. I'm all for LOTS of whipped cream!

Please let me know you stopped by! Thanks for looking!

Crazy 4 Challenges C4C20

Today I made this card for Crazy 4 Challenges:

I needed a "man" birthday card, so here it is. I used all Stampin' Up! paper and inks (Always Artichoke, Mellow Moss, Sand, Blush Blossom). The fish is from Inkadinkadoo, and the tree is Rubber Stampede. The sentiment is from the "Everyday Jar-gon" set from Clear Dollar Stamps.

To get the corner effect, I folded each corner and then inked it in Always Artichoke.

I would LOVE for you to leave a comment--please do!

Thanks for looking!

A Spoonful of Sugar Challenge

This week over at A Spoonful of Sugar, the challenge is "Lots of Layers".  I entered this card:

This card looked a LOT different to begin with, but I really wasn't happy with it. So I took it all apart and came up with what is posted above.

Here is what the card looked like to begin with:

Which one do you like better??

Stampin Sisters in Christ Challenge #21 Hosea 6:1 Card #2

Hi! Here's another card for the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge. I made this card a while ago. It was based on a Splitcoast Stampers Sketch (SC28). I gave it to my mom for Mother's Day.

Stampin Sisters in Christ Challenge #21 Hosea 6:1

This card was my entry for Hosea 6:1 Stampin Sisters in Christ Challenge. I love the emphasis that things that were broken have been made whole again--just like Christ did for us! Awesome!

Moxie Fab Start to Finish Challenge

This is the card that I entered for the Moxie Fab Start to Finish Challenge. What a great week it has been over at Paper Crafts and Moxie Fab! I have really enjoyed each day.

I made this card using some new stamps that I picked up at Michaels recently. I just love the way the heart came out! I stamped it using basic black ink, then used Crystal Effects on it. While the CE was still wet, I sprinkled Martha Stewart onyx glitter over it, and wowza! It looks really pretty in "real life". I'm not sure you can tell how nicely it glitters.

I embossed the black background with the Cuttlebug D'vine Swirl embossing folder. I really like this folder!

Since this card is for my husband for Valentine's Day, I didn't want it to be too "girly". I also wanted to emphasize the "I Love You", which is why I kept everything black except for the sentiment.

I don't typically carry the design over to the inside of the card, so this was a new thing for me. It was a challenge, but a fun one!

Please leave me a comment! I am new at this whole card-making thing, so I would love any input that you would like to share. Thanks!

Caardvarks Sketch Challenge

I am entering this card for Caardvarks challenge!

I am very excited...not that I plan to win, since I'm such a "newbie"...but I'm excited to even try. This is so fun!
I just LOVE this paper--I bought it in PA while we were home over Christmas. It comes from the Life's Journey DP Stack by K&Company. Isn't it so pretty?
The stamps are Stampin'Up! The string around the sentiment is something I found, believe it or not, at the local Thrift Store. I just put strong double-sided tape around the back and wound it until I liked the effect. The lace trim is also from that Thrift Store.
I used Stampin'Up's scallop border punch for the scallop trim.
I hope you like it!
